Executive Coaching

Positive psychology is a keystone of good coaching. As an positive psychologist I work with perceptive people who are already successful... and help them discover how to actualize their potential in their work and throughout their lives.

I've had much personal experience in management. I was an executive in several sizeable organizations. I ran a division of the Hearst Communications Companies as well an arm of a large production and distribution company with clients in the UK, China, the EU, South America and the US.

There's a lot that's emerged from Positive Psychology research that can make coaching more effective. One of these advances that have emerged from Positive Psychology is the discovery of how to mobilize our strengths in the way few do. This came from groundbreaking research that proved that few of us understand or appreciate our actual strengths. These are our natural gifts; they're native and inborn. Most of us put our efforts into beefing up the places where we're less strong. This hinders us. Real accomplishment comes when you use your natural strengths in service of goals that are aligned with what you care about.

The next question is "How do you measure success?"

I measure return on investment in career enrichment. Enrichment is both external and internal. My clients report expanded compensation and, more importantly to me -- satisfaction and well-being. They feel their lives are building and broadening.

Who do I work with?

Some clients want to re-invent themselves, transform their businesses. Still others want to learn to inspire or discover their untapped strengths. Some have attained large success but find it isn't enough. Others want to bring a deeper meaning, sometime a spiritual dimension to their work. We do all of this.

I see executive coaching as a collaboration that thrives on trust, confidence, and accomplishment. I'm proud to say I've developed many strong friendships with clients during the course of working together.
